Free Education Session For New and Expecting Moms

Come joint for a free education session for new and expecting Moms. Two sessions will be held. First session on Thursday March 3 from 6-7 pm. Session will review proper baby positioning for safe sleep, tummy time, swaddling, baby carriers/car seats, and torticollis ("twisted neck") prevention. Second session will be held on Monday March 7 from 6-7 pm and will review proper back safety, sleeping and lifting techniques for Mom. An exercise session will be reviewed for core stabilizations. Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Sykesville will be holding their 25th Annual Lenten Fish Dinners on Fridays ( Feb. 12-March 18th) from 4-6:30pm. Dinners available range from Baked or Breaded Fish Dinners to Shrimp Dinners. Cost $9 for Adults and $4 for kids. Dinners include macaroni and cheese, haluski, potatoes, stewed tomatoes, cole slaw, roll, cake and a beverage. Event also features a 50/50 drawing each week. Take-Outs are available.

The Rebecca M. Arthurs Memorial Library in Brookville will host a book fair Tuesday, Feb. 9th and Wednesday, Feb. 10th . On Tuesday you can browse for books from 12n to 6pm and on Wednesday you browse from 9:30am to 1:30pm. A portion of the books are available for cash and carry. DuBois Little League will be holding a baseball and softball registration on Sunday, Feb 14th from 12n to 3pm at the American Legion in DuBois, Must bring birth certificate and be accompanied by and adult or guardian to register. For ages 5-16.

VALENTINE'S DAY DANCE AT GALAXY HALL

TREASURE LAKE CHURCH BASKETBALL CLINIC

Treasure Lake Church will be hosting an Upward Sports Basketball Clinic, February 20, 2016. The clinic is open to both male or female basketball participants from 3rd grade to 8th grade. The Clinic runs from 8:30am-12pm for 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade, and 12:30 pm- 4pm for 6th, 7th, & 8th grade.  The cost is $10 dollars.  Registration forms can be found online at treasurelakechurch.org.

Because cancer has touched so many lives in the Dubois Area, Rosie’s Book Shoppe and Amy Yarn Boutique have started a drive to collect chemo caps for the Hahne Cancer Center. If you are knitter or crochet person, please think about whipping up a few of these caps.  If you need directions or yarn, they have it available.   Please stop at Rosie’s Book Shoppe at 323 Midway Drive next to Dan’s Pro Shop.
