FOW Turned Himself In

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced that the Fugitive of the Week as Adam Michael
Rhodes, age 26, of Tadpole Road, Pennsylvania Furnace, Pennsylvania turned himself in.
Rhodes was added to the Clearfield County
Fugitive of the Week list on May 5, 2014.
On January 23, 2014, Patrolman Shawn Fye of
the Clearfield Borough Police Department, filed a Criminal Complaint charging
Rhodes with: 1) Theft By Deception, F2; and 2) Bad Checks, M2.
An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by
Patrolman Fye states that the Clearfield Borough Police Department received a
report from a Clearfield business that Rhodes had purchased two pistols and paid
with a check for $902.59. When the
business went to cash the check it was discovered that the check had a stop
payment issued on it. On December 23, 2013, contact was made with Rhodes and he
was informed about the stop payment on the check, however Rhodes has failed to
reimburse the business or return the firearms.
A Preliminary Hearing was scheduled for March
19, 2014, at which time Rhodes failed to appear and a warrant was issued for
Shaw stated that on May 8, 2014, Rhodes
voluntarily surrendered himself to Deputies from the Clearfield County
Sheriff's Office and he was placed on bail.
Shaw thanked the Clearfield County Sheriff's
Office for their assistance with this case.
