CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District
Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County's Fugitive of the
Week for the week of May 12, 2014. Shaw identified the Fugitive as Ethan
William McLachlan, age 23, of Grandview Road, Curwensville, Pennsylvania.
Shaw stated that McLachlan is wanted for
failure to appear at a Preliminary Hearing on April 2, 2014.
On February 18, 2014, Officer Julie Curry of
the Lawrence Township Police Department, filed a Criminal Complaint charging
McLachlan with: 1) Retail Theft, M1; 2) Receiving Stolen Property, M1; 3)
Harassment, S; and 4) Disorderly Conduct, S.
An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by
Officer Curry states that on February 11, 2014, the Lawrence Township Police
Department received a report of a theft from a Clearfield business. Upon
investigation it was found that McLachlan had concealed several items while
inside the store, then left the business without purchasing the merchandise.
Additionally, when McLachlan was stopped outside the business by store
employees he became combative and pushed an employee.
A Preliminary Hearing was scheduled for April
2, 2014, at which time McLachlan failed to appear and a warrant was issued for
McLachlan is described as follows:
