NAB Crystal Radio Awards Finalists Announced
Washington, DC - The National Association of Broadcasters
announced the 50 finalists for the 25th Annual Crystal Radio Awards.
Since 1987, the NAB Crystal Radio Awards have recognized radio stations
for their outstanding year-round commitment to community service.
Winners will be announced and the finalists will be honored at the NAB
Radio Luncheon. The Luncheon, sponsored by ASCAP, will be held Tuesday,
April 17 during the 2012 NAB Show in Las Vegas.
In recognition of the Crystals' Silver Anniversary, NAB and Operation
Interdependence will be working with the 50 finalists to send care
packages to military units abroad. More than two million U.S. troops
serving abroad have received care packages through Operation
Interdependence since its inception in 2001. Crystal finalists are
invited to write letters to the troops and to help pack boxes during the
NAB Show at the Operation Interdependence booth on Monday, April 16th
between 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
"Operation Interdependence is honored to work together with the
Crystals Award finalists in service to America's military at NAB Show
this April," said Karon Carley, president of Operation Interdependence.
"We commend these stations for their service to communities and
appreciate their assistance in supporting the men and women who bravely
serve our nation. We look forward to sending many care packages to our
troops overseas this spring."
