CLEARFIELD – The Fugitive of the week 50 year old Richard Allen Supenia was apprehended in Altoona today by the deputies of the Clearfield
County Sheriff’s Office.
Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the
capture of a wanted fugitive Richard Allen Supenia, age 50, of Pine Run Road,
Madera, Pennsylvania. Supenia was added to the Clearfield County
Fugitive of the Week list on June 30, 2014.
On March 12, 2014, Trooper Joshua Lawrence of
the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a Criminal Complaint
charging Supenia with: 1) Resisting Arrest, M2; 2) Possession of a Small Amount
of Marijuana, M; 3) Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, M; 4) Criminal
Trespass, M3; 5) Harassment, S; 6) Disorderly Conduct, S; and 7) Required
Financial Responsibility, S.
An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by
Trooper Lawrence states that on March 8, 2014, the Pennsylvania State Police
were dispatched to a residence located on Shoff Lane, Bigler Township, for the
report of a male trespassing on the property. Upon investigation it was found
that Supenia had arrived at the property and grabbed the victim by the throat
and kicked him twice. Supenia fled the scene, after witnesses contacted the
State Police. After Supenia was located, Troopers attempted to take him into custody,
however he resisted arrest and attempted to keep his wrists from being
handcuffed. Eventually Supenia was able to be handcuffed, and was taken into
custody. A search incident to arrest revealed Supenia to be in possession of a
plastic bag containing suspected marijuana.
A Preliminary Hearing was scheduled for April
30, 2014, at which time Supenia failed to appear and a warrant was issued for
Shaw stated that an anonymous tip to the
Clearfield County Crime Stoppers provided the location of Supenia. On July 1, 2014, Deputies from the Clearfield
County Sheriff's Office apprehended Subpenia in Altoona, Pennsylvania and he
was taken into custody without incident. Supenia is currently lodged in the
Clearfield County jail.

Office for their assistance with this case.
