Rail Car Project Temporally Derailed

DUBOIS - At last night's Dubois city council
meeting, council said they will send a letter to sandy township's building code
board of appeals supporting Dr. Jeffrey Rice's Rail Car project on its
property. Dr. Rice approached city council at its meeting last night to report
that the rail car project at Dr. Doolittle's has been temporarily derailed.
Rice said a building code inspector has deemed a 1947 rail car he's purchased a
new structure. Dr. Rice said he intends to purchase a second rail car and
transform the two cars into restaurants that offer a glimpse into Dubois'
railroad history. If he's unable to obtain a variance, the cars would need
insulation, a foundation and a handicap accessible doorway.
