Trail Extended and Should Increase Tourism

JEFFERSON COUNTY - Brookville
council has received support from the Redbank valley trails association in its
plans to develop the former Depot Street corridor as a trail connection. Our news team reporter John Pozza says the
one mile corridor joins the Redbank trail from south White Street at Giant Eagle
to the rose siding bridge. Officials from the borough and the Allegheny valley
land trust recently toured the spur and determined that the improvements needed
are not that extensive. The trail board, through the land trust, agreed to that
council with design work and grants to help fund the project. He says improving
the corridor would provide a boost to tourism by making the trail directly
accessible to the downtown area.
