Fire Investigation Concludes Juvenile was Careless

JOHNSONBERG - The Pennsylvania police
fire marshal, Johnsonburg police department and Johnsonburg fire department investigated
the origin and cause of a fire that occurred in the Duffy apartments in Johnsonburg. An eight year old boy was treated and
released at elk county regional medical center for minor burns to his
hand. The fire originated in a thirteen
year old males bed and careless smoking was determined to be the cause of the
fire. Charges are pending against the juvenile. The damage was determined to be minimal as
the fire was able to be extinguished prior to the fire departments arrival.
