CLEARFIELD - A crash occurred in Ferguson Township Clearfield County Saturday afternoon. Ruth Sheeder, 58 years old, from La Joes was traveling on Cherry Corners Road when she left the road and struck a utility pole causing the pole to break into two pieces. The vehicle continued and struck a tree. Sheeder was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained major injuries and was taken to the Altoona Hospital. She told the police that a four door blue car was traveling southbound in the northbound lane. She left the roadway to avoid hitting the on coming vehicle. Anyone with information pertaining to this incident is asked to contact the Clearfield Based State Police.
