Local Police Inform Residents about Scams
Friday, March 15, 2013

DUBOIS - Sandy Township Police are advising residents about phone call scams. Police say someone called a 91-year-old DuBois woman and claimed that her grandson had been hurt and needed $2,000 to get him out of the hospital. When the woman told the caller she had no transportation to the bank, the caller insisted on coming to her house. The woman called police and officers reassured her it was a scam. Police advised to not give out personal information or send money to callers you don't know.
