Monday, March 25, 2013
DUBOIS - The 16th Annual Sunny 106 Kids Fair was held yesterday at the DuBois Area Middle School. Regional Manager for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Punxsutawney, Lindsey Herzing says each year, the kid's fair is a fundraiser that benefits Make-A-Wish to help children with life-threatening medical conditions. It is always a great fundraiser every year. I can tell you with our region serves 11 counties and we are working on about 65 wishes right now for children, she says. Its $3,900 a wis. Every dollar that we can get can in definitely helps. To have an event like this typically pulls in around $1,000 is very helpful for us. More than 30 vendors participated in this year's fair. Kids of all ages enjoyed a variety of hands-on experiences. Herzing says all donations go toward wishes for children two and a half to 18 years of age to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
