Postal Service Helping Hunger Relief

Friday, May 10, 2013
DUBOIS - The postal service will be doing its best tomorrow to alleviate hunger in our area.  They've teamed up with the national association of letter carriers and others to conduct the nationís largest single -day food drive in the country.  Letter carriers will be collecting food donations left at area mailboxes throughout the day, which will be delivered to local food banks and other hunger relief organizations.  The process is simple:  you need only place the items in your mailbox and the postal service will take it from there.  Peanut butter, canned soups and vegetables, boxed cereals, pasta and rice are examples of the kinds of items that can be donated.  No expired foods or glass containers are allowed.
