Wednesday, June 26, 2013
BROCKWAY - At last night's meeting, the Brockway area school board approved their 2013-2014 budget at just over 13.7 million dollars, a five percent increase over the current year.  Despite the budget increase, there will be no increase in taxes.  In addition, approval was given for the purchase of 30 computers for the high school computer lab and 75 computers to replace the 3 high school mobile labs that were originally purchased with a "classroom for the future" grant in 2008.  In other business, a budgeted donation of $5,000 was approved for Brockway’s Mengle memorial public library and a policy on weapons and terroristic threats was presented for its first reading. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, august 13, 2013 at 7:00 pm in the education service center of the elementary building.
