Lawmakers Returning to Vote

Saturday, June 29, 2013
HARRISBURG - Pennsylvania state lawmakers are returning to the capitol for a sixth-straight day as the republican majority seeks to wrap up an on-time state budget and secure victories for governor Tom Corbett’s legislative agenda. The house and senate were each scheduled to resume voting sessions today. Lawmakers are trying to complete their top priorities before the fiscal year ends Sunday night.  in the house, a vote is possible on a far-reaching bill to generate billions of dollars for roads, bridges and mass transit agencies primarily by increasing motor fuel taxes.  the senate was poised to advance a $28.3 billion budget bill as well as legislation to privatize wine and liquor sales and compel the expansion of health care to hundreds of thousands of working adults.
