Brockway School District projects completed

Brockway- The Brockway Area School District recently completed a pair of construction projects in time for the opening of the new school year.Sidewalks and curbing were replaced in front of the high school and part of the elementary school, and a new roof was installed on part of the high school. At last night's board meeting, superintendent Dan Hawkins said both schools are looking great and are ready for the new year. Fall sports started on Monday. Hawkins said student participation in fall sports and band this year were exceptional.
The board approved the third year of the German American Partnership Program and establishing a German Club, with Eric Stawecki as advisor. Also approved were John Barrow, Mark Decker, Terri Fleeger, Jon Toney and Zach Weaver for morning hall duty at the high school, Brad Martino for morning detention, and Michele Rhed for morning bus duty at the elementary school.
Teachers will report for in-service days on Aug. 23 and 26, with the first day of school set for Aug. 27
