Time to Comment on Injection Well Running Out
Monday, September 2, 2013
DUBOIS - There is still a week and a half
to share your feelings about the injection well proposed for highland street extension
and the possible seismic problems that could be caused by the well. The EPA has
reopened public comments about the proposed disposal injection well for
highland street extensions in Brady Township. The concern for many people in
the area is the possible problems with seismic activity. There is a fault line
in the area. The research shows there
have been problems with seismic activity and injection wells in other areas
including problems in 4 other states the EPA says the public comments are
limited to this issue. Many of the concerned citizens hope the public comments
will lead to a public hearing on the matter.
The deadline for comments is September 11. There is currently research
information available at the DuBois public library for anyone to look at. You
can email your public comments to platt.steveepa.gov.
