Ride to Gettysburg Charity Event
September 30, 2013
STRABANE TOWNSHIP, PA - State Sen. John Wozniak (front left) leads a contingent of 400 riders south on Route 15 near Gettysburg during the annual Ride to Gettysburg from the state Capitol.

Wozniak and state Supreme Court Justice Seamus McCaffery served as co-grand marshalls of the event, Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013.

Over the past 12 years, ABATE of Pennsylvania has raised more than $125,000 for the Pennsylvania Monuments Fund and restoration of the historic Daniel Lady Farm.

“The money will help preserve and maintain the more than 140 monuments and markers in Gettysburg dedicated to Pennsylvanians who fought heroically during the Civil War,” Wozniak said. “It is important for us to preserve this history so future generations understand the sacrifices made by these Pennsylvanians. A Saturday afternoon ride from the Capitol Complex to Gettysburg is a great way to raise money to honor their memory.”
