October 2, 2013- Don Rooney
HARRISBURG- The water in the fountain at the state Capitol in Harrisburg has turned pink to mark October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Pennsylvania. Democratic leader Jay Costa says itís a gesture to raise awareness about breast cancer.

Representatives of the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition gathered in front of the Capitol East Wing fountain to turn the water pink, marking the beginning of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Pennsylvania. Speakers said awareness and early detection are the keys to beating breast cancer. Several called attention to Senate Bill 358, a proposal that would require patients to receive vital breast density information in their mammography report. The senate unanimously approved the bill in June. The House is scheduled to vote on the bill shortly.
