Brockway Council Praises Law Enforcement

October 4, 2013- John Pozza
BROCKWAY- Brockway council last night praised the job of emergency responders for their work during last Thursday's shooting incident. Everyone involved was commended everyone, from state and local police, to fire, ambulance, and emergency management personnel. Mayor Bill Hrinya said that while communication lines were open throughout the incident to ensure a bad situation didn't get worse, he urged everyone to continue to keep Trooper Wilson and his family in their prayers.

In other business, council reached a settlement with Bureau Veritas, the borough's contracted code inspector. Brockway will get a return of $12,000 in permit fees. Free holiday parking was also approved from Nov. 1 through the end of the year. Any money placed in meters during that time will benefit the food pantry's Angel Tree Project.
