Brookville Council Honors Retiring Mayor and Police Chief
November 20, 2013 - John Pozza
BROOKVILLE- Brookville Council last night presented long-time mayor Chip Wonderling and police chief Ken Dworek with special plaques honoring their many years of dedicated service to the borough. Both will be retiring at the end of the year.

Finance chairman Phil Hynes said his committee is close to finalizing next year's proposed budget. Hynes said the budget looked good but gave no indication if it would include a tax increase. It will be presented for approval in two weeks.

Council's property committee will consider a proposal from the fire department requesting use of the former vacant borough building on Jefferson Street for training.

And, following an executive session, council approved the hiring of two new part-time police officers, including Andrew Turnbull of Brookville and Zane Rhed of Treasure Lake.
