Armed Robbery in Irvona

Tuesday, December 24, 2013
CLEARFIELD COUNTY - Nobody was injured in a retail burglary last night in Irvona.  It was just after 8:15pm when a man entered the dollar general store on Dorsey Avenue and poked a customer that was checking out with what appeared to be a handgun inside of a bag. After telling the customer to get moving, both the customer and the cashier fled the front of the store and hid in the bathroom.  The suspect tried to open the cash register but failed, so he ripped the register out of the counter and left with it.  The man is described as roughly 6 feet tall, weighing 200 pounds and was wearing a tan coat, dark pants, boots and a ski mask.  Anyone with information is asked to contact state police in Clearfield.
