New Paving Project, Resigning Police Officer & DRMC is Staying in DuBois

January 14, 2014- Jessica Illluzzi
DuBOIS- The City of DuBois is planning to pave Clark Street a currently unpaved street near Shower Field. When an unpaved road is paved the city splits the costs with the residents. A third of the project is paid for by the city and a third is paid for by each side of the street.Iin the case of this project,  the city will pay two thirds because they own the property on one side of the street.

Paving could begin as early as May or later in the summer. Because the plan to pave Clark Street is set, the Council is taking the time to send out notices to the residents in the area. City Manager Herm Suplizio said, this will give people time to incorporate the payments they will owe later into their budgets now.

The former middle school SRO officer is resigning from the DuBois City police. City Manager Herm Suplizio said Officer Shawn Bloom is moving on to new things and they wish him well.

DRMC renewed their term of existence resolution at yesterday’s City Council meeting. So they plan to be around for at least another 50 years. The resolution said, “The Hospital Authority of the City of DuBois shall continue to transact business and shall exist for a term of fifty years from the date of approval of the Articles of Amendment of the Authority by the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.”
