Brockway School Board Says No Tax Increase

February 12, 2014- John Pozza
BROCKWAY- The Brockway Area School Board last night adopted its preliminary budget for next year. The budget totals $14.4 million, representing a 5% increase over last year, but does not include a tax increase.

Meantime, a TV crew from the online Teaching Channel will be in Brockway Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week to interview and observe English teacher Ryan Devlin. Devlin is the reining PA state teacher of the year and one of four finalists to become national teacher of the year. Superintendent Dan Hawkins said the national teacher of the year should be named by the end of April. If Devlin is selected, Hawkins said the documentary featuring his work would be shown at a special presentation at the White House.
