Competition for Governor
HARRISBURG (AP) — Candidates for Pennsylvania governor and lieutenant governor who are
seeking to compete in the state's May 20 primary must turn in their nomination
petitions by Tuesday.
Gubernatorial candidates must collect valid signatures
from at least 2,000 voters, including 100 in each of 10 counties. Candidates
for lieutenant governor need at least 1,000 signatures, including 100 from each
of five counties. Seven Democrats are vying for their party's nomination to
challenge Republican Governor Tom Corbett in November.
