CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District
Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County's Fugitive of the
Week for the week of March 24th is Brandon Scott
Sass, age 23, of Susquehanna Avenue, Hyde, Pennsylvania.
Shaw stated that Sass is wanted for failure
to appear at Criminal Call on March 20, 2014.
On August 20, 2013, Chief David R. Johnston
of the Curwensville Borough Police Department, filed a Criminal Complaint
charging Sass with: 1) Access Device Fraud, F3, 3 Counts; 2) Receiving Stolen
Property, M1, 4 Counts; and 3) Access Device Fraud, M3, 4 Counts.
An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Chief
Johnston states that on August 7, 2012, the Curwensville Borough Police
Department received a report of the theft of several personal checks. Upon
investigation it was found that Sass had unlawfully cashed three of the
victim’s checks, and had received approximately $2,419.78. It was also found
that Sass had attempted to cash a fourth check but was denied by the bank.
A Preliminary Hearing was scheduled for
October 23, 2013, at which time all charges were held for Court. On March 20,
2014, Sass failed to appear at Criminal Call and a warrant was issued for his
