First game on Showers Field

April 1, 2014
DuBOIS- Showers Field in DuBois is now open. DuBois High School played their first baseball games on the field yesterday against Warren.
Nancy Micks from the DuBois Chamber of Commerce said, I think its a great opportunity. You can tell just by the crowd. The field has been a huge draw here tonight. And its just a wonderful opportunity.
Its just a great day, beautiful weather, just a great day to open the season on this beautiful field, said Ron Lucas who coached some of the players when they were in little league. They really went all out for this field and it is good for DuBois baseball. Kudos to the City of DuBois for such a beautiful job on this field.
DuBois varsity beat warren 10 to 6 in 6 1/2 innings and Dubois JV lost to warren 4-2 in 4 innings. The game was called when it got too dark.

The kids finally have a great field to play on. It doesnt matter who the kids are its just great to see them out here. Its a beautiful field, and when the project is complete it is going to be A #1again for DuBois., she said.

Changes to the walkway are also part of the Showers Field project.
