Local Movie Theater Saved

April 18, 2014- Jessica Illuzzi
CLEARFIELD- The Ritz Theater in Clearfield has been saved. The film industry no longer uses film so theaters have had to upgrade to digital. But the cost of upgrading almost closed the theater.

The Clearfield Revitalization Corporation (CRC) has received $30,000 in Redevelopment Grant-to-Loan funding to help the Ritz Theater convert to digital. This funding is a loan that will be paid back to the CRC and then will be used for other projects in the area.

Many theaters were forced to close when the film industry announced they would only be using digital. Thanks to this loan and the help of the Save the Ritz campaign this local theater can keep its doors open.
