Brockway, PA – Brockway Area Junior-Senior High School will close for Thursday and Friday following a fourth confirmed COVID-19 case.
The Department of Education guidelines mandate that a building close for cleaning if there are four active cases during a rolling two-week window, according to an email sent to parents in the district. With Brockway’s fourth case, the district closed the high school and canceled home games and practices for those two days.
Brockway Area Elementary School is unaffected.
Teachers at Brockway High will be in their classrooms during the two-day shutdown, conducting classes through Google Classroom. While the staff will be in the building, the school is closed to visitors and students until in-person classes resume on Monday.
