DUBOIS – DuBois City Manager Herm Suplizio was arrested Monday and arraigned for allegedly stealing hundred’s of thousands of dollars from public accounts. Suplizio allegedly committed over 620-tousand dollars in fraudulent transactions using funds from city bank accounts and the DuBois Area United Way to pay his personal credit card bills, make political donations and gamble according to a report from the Attorney General’s office. Suplizio is accused of using his position as city manager to enter into contracts with businesses for personal gain. Suplizio is facing 15 charges including 6 felonies. Charges were waived for court and a hearing is set for April 12th in Clearfield. Suplizio was released on 100-thousand dollar unsecured bail.
Clearfield County District Attorney Ryan Sayers said, “Allegations of corruption can shake the public’s confidence in our governmental structures. However, thanks to Attorney General Henry, Senior Deputy AG Carroll, the State Police, and other organizations, the public can be assured that law enforcement and prosecutors stand ready to hold all public figures accountable for their actions.”
DuBois Mayor Eddie Walsh said, “I have no comment at this time.”
