DuBois, PA – The DuBois Area Middle School building will be closed for the remainder of the week (Dec. 16-18) for deep cleaning.

The number of COVID-19 cases in a 14-day period has reached a level at which, according to CDC recommendations, requires a temporary 3-day closure.

There have now been 6 confirmed cases of COVID-19 within a 14-day rolling window.

Students will still have class via virtual learning this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

If you have questions about your child’s classes, please reach out directly to the DuBois Area Middle School and check your phone or voicemail for messages with instructions for your student.

The message that was sent out to guardians of DuBois Middle school students:

The DuBois Area Middle School was just informed of their 6th confirmed case of COVID-19 within a rolling 14-day window. As recommended by the CDC, this is the minimum threshold to necessitate a temporary 3-day closure for deep cleaning.

Through the PA Department of Health contact tracing protocol; today, we identified individuals that had been in close contact with the confirmed individual and immediately notified these individuals of their need to quarantine.

On December 16th, 17th and 18th, all middle school instructional and instructional support staff will facilitate and support instruction through Google Classroom. All middle school students will follow their daily schedule and participate in their classes as scheduled remotely.

Chromebooks have been provided to all students and hotspots have been provided to families that lack internet access in their homes. If your student has technology needs, please contact the Technology Help Desk at (814) 299-4866.

The Middle School will reopen for in-person instruction on Monday, December 21.
