Presented by Tri-County Insider

DuBois, PA – Parents voiced concern about the use of ESSERS funds for the E-sports program at DuBois Area High School and the amount of time kids spend on video games at last night’s school board meeting.

However, Nicole Hill, Director of Instructional Technology & Innovation, presented that ESSERS funds may be used for this club.

Overall, national statistics depict that 80% of participants in e-sports programs have never been involved in an extracurricular program.

School Board member Charlie Watt of Region A stated that this money should not come from the ESSERS fund.

School Board member David Schwab stated that this is an unfair use of funds overall because this is 100 times what the science teams receive.
