UPDATED (AP) — A federal appeals court says Pennsylvania can restore pandemic restrictions on indoor and outdoor gatherings, putting on hold a judge’s ruling that threw out statewide limits on crowd size.
The 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday said the administration of Gov. Tom Wolf may once again enforce size limits on gatherings while it appeals the lower court order.
The state immediately reimposed its gathering limit of more than 25 people for events held indoors and more than 250 people for those held outside, though Wolf hinted changes are in the works.
Schools began telling parents about the reinstated spectator limits at sporting events.

Please be patient today as schools are still deciding how to handle tonight’s games. If you have a question, please ask your specific school district. However, they likely won’t make any decisions until later today.
Although Gov. Wolf has hinted that restrictions will likely soon be softened, there is no word yet.
