Members of the DuBois Middle School Hope Squad had delivered Candy grams for Valentine’s Day to the residents of the Gray Foundation, St. Michaels Terrace and Parkside Community Center Hahne Cancer Center and The Veterans Clinic. This was one the activities planned as part of The Week of Hope.
Hope Squad’s mission is to
Reduce youth suicide through education, training, and peer intervention.
Hope Squad members are trained to be aware of their peers and watch for warning signs. They learn to show empathy to their peers, listen without judgment, and reduce stigma regarding help-seeking and mental illness.
