HARRISBURG — Dozens of Tri-County area Volunteer Fire Companies and Emergency Medical Services will be receiving state grants.
The money will come from Pennsylvania’s Office of State Fire Commissioner and will be used for facility upgrades, equipment, debt reduction, training and certification, education, and recruitment and retention efforts.
In DuBois, AmServ and DuBois EMS Ambulance Service will each receive $10,000. A $25,000 grant has been awarded to the North Point Fire Company while the Fourth Ward Hose Company and J.E. DuBois Hose Company will each be given more than $14,000 in grant money. Grants to the Oklahoma Fire Company and Goodwill Hose Company in DuBois are more than $13,000; Friendship Hose Company will receive $12,500; and the Volunteer Hose Company grant is more than $11,800.
