Jefferson County 4-H serves youth ages 5-18 with a wide array of project-based learning opportunities and projects. Members “learn by doing” (the 4-H slogan) by completing projects such as sewing a garment, baking a cake, and raising an animal, among many other examples. Members learn life skills that will serve them throughout their lives, including perseverance, mastery of skills, leadership ability, recordkeeping, and more. 4-H serves youth in traditional club programs, school enrichment opportunities, after-school programs, and camps. 4-H serves over 70,000 Pennsylvania youth every year and is administered primarily by volunteers (over 3,200 in PA)
