DUBOIS — Multiple assault charges have been filed against a Clearfield man following the early Sunday morning shooting at the Invictus multi-recreational facility in DuBois. State Police say 27-year-old Zachery Dodson is facing four counts of aggravated assault, three counts of simple assault, and two counts of terroristic threats. Dodson is currently being held in Jefferson County Jail. Dodson reportedly shot 31-year-old Ani Myrtaj of DuBois in the face as Myrtaj stepped between Dodson and Invictus owner Joe Morrison. Myrtaj is reportedly in stable condition at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh where he underwent surgery for a broken jaw.

DuBois Police Chief Blaine Clark says Dodson had been told to leave Invictus twice by Morrison. During a struggle, Dodson reportedly pulled a gun and pointed it towards Morrison. Even though Morrison was able to grab the gun, it discharged and struck Myrtaj in the face. Reports say that Morrison was able to disarm Dodson and hold him to the ground until the police arrived. Chief Clark noted that DuBois Police were on the scene within 18 seconds of being called. Clark also credited Morrison for acting quickly saying, “I think by the quick intervention of the owner, he definitely saved his life by engaging the guy and probably multiple other people.”
