The Week of HOPE
Listen to students Ren and Jayda from the DAHS HOPE Squad about what HOPE Squad is and what activities all students will be participating in during the week of HOPE, February 13th-17th.
Week of Hope activities aim to strengthen members and build meaningful connections within your community, by:
Collaborating with local agencies and governments to issue a Day of Hope proclamation
Educating your school and community about suicide and mental illness
Identifying and publicizing local mental health resources
Creating a sense of community through shared experiences
Teaching the basics of QPR and suicide prevention
Sharing personal experiences
Activities Planned at DuBois Area High School
Tuesday-Valentine’s Day–Students are delivering Candy Grams to St. Michaels Terrace & Gray Foundation Building. Candy Grams will also be delivered to Parkside Community Center, VA Medical Clinic, Hahne Cancer Center
Thursday–February 16-The National Day of Hope–Mayor Edward Walsh will be visiting both the Middle School and the High School to Sign the Proclamation declaring it the 2023 Day of Hope.
Friday, February 17–The DuBois Area Middle School will have Mad Maxx Photo Booth available to get their pictures taken. DuBois Area High School is hosting a Dance from 7-10 pm with DJ Mad Maxx.
