Priority First FCU February Community Spotlight Recipient

The Randy Carlson Memorial (Tournament) has been named the February Priority First FCU Community Spotlight Recipient.

The Randy Carlson Memorial Tournament is a benefit hockey tournament held annually in May. Originally played at the Reynoldsville Rollerdrome, the tournament is now held at the outdoor rink in Brockway. The tournament began as a way to remember former XHL player Randy Carlson, who passed away from melanoma in 2004.  They are currently accepting nominations for our 2026 beneficiary. You can access the application here

The first two tournaments in 2005 and 2006 were meant to remember Randy Carlson and bring awareness to cancer.  Thanks to some recommendations from participants, the event began to raise money for local causes in 2010.

Since that time, the tournament has raised over $45,000.  That money has been donated to several local individuals and families who are battling cancer, to groups like the American Cancer Society, and even to the Hahne Regional Cancer Center in DuBois. Their biggest amount raised was $10,000 in 2025 for Kelsey Matchock.

More information can be found on their website. If you would like to make a donation to our event, please call/text: 814.590.5408 or email: [email protected].
