SHARE NOW

Brookville, PA – More than 100 students from 10 area school districts competed in the Tri-County Envirothon at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds on Tuesday, and Brockway’s team is heading to the next round!

Out of those 10 teams, Brockway School District swept every category, earning a slot in the state competition, May 21 and 22. No team has ever swept all five categories.

Envirothon is hosted by the Jefferson County Conservation District and tests students in five categories: forestry, aquatics, wildlife, soils, and agriculture and environment.

Brockway’s team of Austin Pringle, Tanner Pierce, Jacob DeBerti, Cecilia Manno, and Emily Roush took the top honors at a score of 394 out of 400.

They were followed by Keystone at 323 and Brookville at 305.

Manno explained Envirothon and where Brockway is going next.
