Memorial Day 2020

Even though we’re adhering to some new rules this year due to the pandemic, we can still honor Memorial Day and the fallen members of our military. Listen to Connect FM starting at 6am this Monday, May 25th for ABC Radio’s America First 2020.

You are also encouraged to participate in the National Moment of Remembrance.  At 3:00 P.M. on Memorial Day,  pause for a moment of silence for those who’ve died serving in the military and take at least one minute to send love, prayers, and thoughts.

DuBois, PA – Most area cemeteries and military organizations are only holding private ceremonies this year. These services are NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. This is to prevent too many people congregating in one area. However, you are still allowed to visit cemeteries and place flags or flowers on grave, but there will not be a public ceremony from either the Dubois VFW or the American Legion in DuBois.

Treasure Lake, PA – One Memorial Day event that is still scheduled is the ceremony at Treasure Lake’s Gazebo next to the Marina. Treasure Lake residents are welcome to attend the event, while practicing social distancing, starting at 10am. Larry Schmaus will perform Taps. If you are planning on attending by boat, they ask that boaters please turn off their engines.
