They are our May Priority First Federal Credit Union Community Spotlight Cares Advertising Grant recipient. The Unit has worked closely with Local Police Departments, Multiple Fire Stations, State Police and other Search and Rescue groups. We are an emergency service and can only be dispatched through Jefferson County 911 Dispatch Center. We practice 2-3 times a week to be sure members can attend at least 1 practice as most members work full-time.We practice in many different locations due to having members in Elk, Clarion, Forest, Jefferson and Clearfield Counties. Our doors are always open to individuals interested in joining our organization. We are currently in need of Social Members. Our Unit currently has 17 K9 members and seven Social Members. Our Unit goes through a seminar once a year to be sure we are training our K-9’s correctly through the International Bloodhound Training Institute using the Kocher Method. We also are certified yearly through this Institute to be sure our K-9 teams are able to assist families as efficiently as possible. Members also undergo multiple trainings such as: First Aid, CPR and AED, Lost Person Behavior, Navigation Training, Drug and Alcohol Training and more. Our organization is non-profit so we do a lot of fundraising. We have a PAW-ghetti dinner coming up on May 27th in Brookville. A lot of people look forward to our Summer Fun Raffle which will be starting here soon. We also try to give back to the community as much as possible. Brookville Laurel Festival is in June and the Unit is hosting a couple of events that week. (Laurel Fest 5K and the Pet Parade). The Unit is hosting a First Responders Day on August 19th this year. One of our favorite ways to give back is by talking to families and children about the Hug-A-Tree Program and giving information on what to do if someone were to become lost. Some things our organization could utilize are First Aid Kits (for humans and K-9s), headlamps and flashlights, tick spray, and bottled water. Our Unit is working towards a command unit and/or emergency vehicle to better serve our community.Chief is Adam Moore, Deputy Chief is Nathan Musser, President is Makynsey Kepner and Vice President is Heidi DeLarme. You can follow them on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pinecreekk9searchunit The Community SpotlightPriority First Federal Credit Union has partnered with Priority Media and Sunny 106 to offer the Community Spotlight Grant offering advertisements to various local non-profit organizations.Name(Required) First Last Email(Required) Enter Email Confirm Email Nomination Information(Required)Please include the non-profit organization"s name, address, and phone number as well as why you think they deserve The Community Spotlight Advertising Grant from Priority First Federal Credit Union and Priority Media.Δ
