The ARC of Jefferson and Clearfield Counties provides Recreation and Respite Clubs in DuBois and Punxsy and also has Camp Friendship in Reynoldsville. They are our June Priority First FCU Community Spotlight grant recipient.
The ARC Recreation and Respite Clubs are open to anyone living in Jefferson or Clearfield County, over 18, with an intellectual or developmental disability. They strive to promote self-confidence, positive relationships, social independence and a sense of belonging among the members. They work to provide a healthy and safe place to interact, socialize, have fun, and provide respite for parents.
Membership is $20 annually. Cash or checks are accepted. They have locations in DuBois and Punxsy.
The Mission Statement of the ARC of Jefferson and Clearfield Counties is to provide Advocacy and resources to citizens with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families by:
1. Advocating to advance the rights and interests of those with physical, developmental, and intellectual disabilities
2. Increasing public awareness by sharing the needs and potential of our special needs population
3. Fostering the development of services for persons with special needs and assuring the quality of such services provided.
4. Participating in the ARC movement by associating with The ARC of PA and the ARC of the United States.
