Congratulations to Chanell Britten, our Sunny Athlete of the Week with the Swift Kennedy Insurance Group!
Chanell is a junior at Brockway Area Jr/Sr High School. She helped lead her team this year to it’s third District 9 title championship game in the past three years. The Brockway Lady Rovers reclaimed the District 9 title this year after a double overtime loss in the title game last year and claiming their first D9 title in the school’s history in 2016.
Chanell had 42 goals this season which included 6 hat tricks and (3) 4 goal games, along with 11 assists, while reaching her 100th career goal this year and becoming just the third girl in the school’s history to reach their 100th career goal. She also helped her team outscored their opponents 84-12 and complete the first ever undefeated girls soccer regular season program in the school’s history.
Chanell was named for the third year in a row to the 2018 UAVSL All-Conference team and was also named the MVP for the second year in a row.
Chanell continues playing soccer year round with her club team Northern Steel. Her future plans include college studying Intelligence and National Security and playing college soccer.
